The newly developed Spoon low-temp thermostat has a valve opening temperature of 68C (OEM 78C) and a fully open temperature of 81C (OEM 90C), which is about 10C lower than the standard OEM thermostat. Cooling water circulates quickly through the radiator, and cooling is started before the water temperature rises, thereby suppressing power down.
